True blue is a difficult color to find in the plant world. Gentiana 'True Blue' is the ultimate in True Blue for the garden - so much so that it proclaims it in its name! This is a new introduction that we're pretty excited about, for obvious reasons. It bears an abundance of tightly furled arrow shaped dark blue buds that open to rich true blue upward facing trumpet shaped flowers. The inside of each flower is accented with  royal purple streaks. This Gentian has a slightly loose, open habit with 18"-24" stems clothed in glossy green lance shaped leaves and with flowers borne all the way up the stem. It thrives in full sun or light shade.
