Our Plants
We grow over 2,000 varieties of hardy fieldgrown perennials, herbs, unusual annuals, tropicals and vegetables. Our goal is to offer you the tried & true as well as the new & unusual.
Our perennials are almost all fieldgrown, meaning that we pot them up and then sink the pots into the ground where they remain until they go home with a gardener. Therefore, when you select a plant from our fieldgrown selection you know that plant has already been through a Wisconsin winter. We offer a large selection ornamental grasses, native prairie plants (ideally suited to growing in our harsh Wisconsin climate), daylilies, herbs, hosta, ferns and much more.
We are particular about the annual plants we grow. Since they only live a single season we believe they should earn their keep by performing beautifully throughout that time. We also grow a large selection of tropical succulents, ideal for creating beautiful combination containers that can wintered indoors and brought out to a patio or deck during the growing season.
We have become especially interested in vegetables in the past few years. The movement towards more local and healthier food production was our inspiration. We specialize in heritage varieties, prized for their rich, complex flavors. We sell only vegetable plants. We do not sell seeds.
