Milwaukee Art Museum
Art in Bloom 2008

We were honored to be invited to the inaugural "Art in Bloom" event held at the Milwaukee Art Museum April 10th through the 13th. Thirty works of art were selected to be interpreted by some of southeastern Wisconsin's most noted floral designers. Johanna Kleckner, one of our talented floral designers, created this superb piece as an interpretation of Barbara Hepworth's white marble sculpture. Hepworth was influential in introducing the concept of "negative space" in sculpture, and she was also an avid gardener. Johanna captured the essence of the artwork with a subtle forest-like design utilizing natural toned materials (including - of course - stone) and incorporating the concept of negative space as the central part of the design. We want to thank all who attended the exhibit. It was a lot of fun!
