Blooming Today (August 28, 2015) : Lavender Mist Meadowrue (Thalictrum rochebrunianum)
Tall and elegant, Thalictrum rochebrunianum brings an airy lightness to the late summer garden. It bears clusters of dainty pendant lavender/purple flowers with prominent contrasting yellow stamen atop sturdy 4'-6' stems. The delicate glaucous blue/green foliage is attractive throughout the growing season.
This plant is happiest growing in partial shade but is tolerant of either sun or shade. It is an excellent back-of-the-border plant that is particularly effective rising up behind the heavier, bolder foliage of shade plants such as Hosta.
We think this is an extremely worthy garden plant that is deserving of wider use.
USDA Hardiness Zones 4-7.
