Geranium sanguineum 'Lancastriense'

Geranium sanguineum 'Lancastriense'

Blooming Today (June 27th):

Geranium sanguineum 'Lancastriense' (syn. 'Striatum)
Lancaster Cranesbill

One of our favorite perennials, and one that we feel earns its place on that short list of "must-haves". It is extremely hardy, long-lived and adaptable. It slowly forms a tidy low 6"-8" mound of foliage that remains attractive throughout the growing season. The saucer-shaped soft pink blossoms, veined with rose, are borne most profusely in June but often continue sporadically in July, August & September. Its neat mounding habit and moderate growth rate make it ideal for the front of the border and for the smaller scale garden.  It will grow happily in full sun as well as in significant shade. It is not particular about soil. This one will bring you years of enjoyment.
