Some plants shine in the garden but just don't show themselves well in a container. Lamiastrum 'Herman's Pride' (Silver Archangel) is one such plant. In the container it is invariably overlooked while in the garden it is a standout! It forms a dense neat 8"-12" upright mound of heavily silver veined foliage, topped in late spring by an abundance of yellow hooded flowers. Unlike its relatives this Lamiastrum is absolutely well behaved in the garden, staying put in its place as a specimen plant and NEVER running around as some of its cousins are infamous for doing. Lamiastrum 'Herman's Pride' will grow in a wide range of conditions but is happiest in partial shade. It is also one of the few plants that is tolerant of dry shade. We encourage you to give this underutilized plant a try. We feel confident that you will be pleased with its performance. |
