Rudbeckia Autumn Sun Rudbeckia Autumn Sun

Blooming This Week (early September):
Autumn Sun Rudbeckia (Rudbeckia 'Herbstonne'/'Autumn Sun')

Standing up to 6' tall, this Rudbeckia makes a stately addition to the autumn garden. Its sturdy stems, which never require staking, support an abundance of  sulphur yellow flowers in September. Unlike its cousin, the Black-Eyed-Susan,  'Autumn Sun' has a prominent lime green central cone which eventually matures to tan. It is a popular late season nectar source for butterflies and the seeds are a favorite of Goldfinches. An all-around fantastic plant for those who can accomodate its size.
