Blooming This week (The first week of May):
Uvularia grandiflora
"Giant Merrybells"
A long lived, hardy native woodlander with large hanging yellow bells in early spring. The flowers have a charming twirling form and last for several weeks. Height is 12"-18" and spread is about the same. This plant combines particularly effectively with yellow foliage Hostas. It is also beautiful with early blue flowers such as Mertensia virginica (Virginia Bluebells). After blooming the green foliage remains attractive throughout the growing season.
